Some of my favorites include Knowledge and Inner Work. I've been a big fan of his work for years and he continues to impress me every time I pick up one of his books. If you haven't read any of his works, you should! You won't regret it! He's such an amazing writer.

Sheikh Abdul Basit was a regular speaker on Islam in simple terms. If you have time, listen to some of his talks. He explains complex things with easy analogies and has a down-to-earth approach that is not condescending or over the top.

 He was known for his wit and for being down-to-earth, in addition to being a world-class scholar. He once explained that in Islam, no matter what level of knowledge you have, someone else always knows more. So instead of competing with others, learn from them!

In 1996, sheikh abdul basit abdul samad was gunned down in saudi arabia. His goal was to promote islam through education and he fought for religious tolerance.

Through the very limited research I've done, it looks like one of Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad's favorite activities is spending time with his family, so why not go spend time with your own? Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdusamad was born on December 12, 1934 in Ceylon. He completed his early education in Ceylon and graduated from the Islamia College, Sri Lanka. In 1962 he entered formal Islamic Studies at the famed Al-Azhar University in Cairo and graduated with honors. Sheik Abul Samad then studied for three years at Queens' College Oxford University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree (1st Class) in Comparative Literature.
